Diamond Springs, CA, 2016 – The generation of solar energy is growing to meet increasing demand. Worldwide growth of photovoltaic systems, which use solar panels to create electricity, has averaged 40% per year since 2000. In the U.S., nearly 1% of U.S. electricity generation in 2015 came from solar power, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The U.S. is currently the third-largest solar market in the world and soon to become the second.
Against this backdrop of growing demand, Nor-Cal Controls ES, Inc., a California-based system integrator, is improving its operations and better serving the needs of its customers by standardizing solar power control systems on GE hardware and software solutions.
Nor-Cal offers consulting, engineering and training services to the power generation sector. They specialize in power plant automation and process engineering solutions, working with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms to design, install and commission open architecture SCADA control and monitoring systems.
Nor-Cal has designed and implemented over 25 projects using GE’s CIMPLICITY automation application. Several solar generation owners and developers have, after extensive research and discussion, standardized on Nor-Cal and GE system offerings throughout the country.
